Ogunmoye Awobule

Ogunmoye AwobuleHe was a successful farmer until his problems began ‘I was a farmer who was doing fine with the rest of my family, the whole problem started when I got back from the farm one faithful afternoon, I tried to defecate but it was not coming, I felt it was because of the intake of sugar, I decided to drink herbs that will enable me purge out the whole thing. I noticed that my stomach was swelling gradually, I voiced out and headed for the hospital, I got there and what I heard was that my system was blocked and I would not be able to defecate or urinate unless I use pipe. I cried out my eyes and had to look for money for them to extract the faeces inside me with a machine. They worked on me and infused a pipe that withdraws my urine. I have been weak and powerless ever since then, I cannot work again.  The feed the elderly foundation intervened at the right time. Anytime there is money, I visit the hospital to defecate. I control my intake so as to remain firm.  The foundation has been providing food and drugs for me. I am happy that somebody cares about me’.

Christiana Funwa

Christiana FunwaMy life has been hell but what can you do to an already made decision. I was a garri seller and had a very understanding husband who loved us very much. The whole problem commenced when I gave birth to my first set of twins that both died the same day, it was very painful because I have been praying to God to give me children. We tried it again and I gave birth to the second set of twins who also died on the same day. After all this mortality issues, we decided to move on with our lives until death took away my beloved husband. I have remained on my own ever since then. I now depend on my neighbours and well wishers for a daily living. I beg when am so hungry. When I discovered the feed the elderly foundation, I filled the form and today I am a bold and relieved widow.

Ayangbesan Ayodele (78 years)

Ayangbesan AyodeleLife they say is harsh and unkind. He commenced his life with an early decision to do tailoring. He made so much money that he was recommended for a chieftaincy title in their village, the ‘Olorotun Acedo of iloti town’. He said ‘that was how my whole problems began, after the celebration for the chieftaincy title; my whole life began to tell new tales. I had to go out in search for help and all what I kept hearing was that God will see me through, along the line, other soul arresting sickness began, I became blind and paralysed for some years, I regained back my physical strength but was still blind, I cannot do tailoring jobs again, cannot fend for myself. I have kids but they are not financially balanced. I was brought back to life when the feed the elderly foundation intervened, I have a stable source of food and drugs every month. I have decided to put my trust in God and I know he would see me through.

Owoseni Adenike Margaret (63 year)

Owoseni Adenike MagaretI have four kids but cannot send them to school. When my husband died, his relations chased us out of his house and we were entirely left alone. Ever since then, we have been staying in the church. There was no choice or another option; we had to just blend along with the situation of things. We were saved by the church I attend, they told me and my four kids to come and stay in the church for the main time.
I am saddled with the responsibility of getting them food and clothes. The church of God has been good to us as some of the members pay for their tuition fee. When I heard about the feed the elderly foundation, I was happy and doubtful but after my first voucher, I had no choice than to believe them. I have no cause to think hard again. The God of Abraham will continue to bless them.

Aderibigbe Noiki (100years)

Aderibigbe NoikiI have four kids but one is dead, the others are still struggling to survive, they rarely have my time, my husband died at an early age and since then, I have been on my own. I sell garri to survive; I had to pack out my few belongings when our own house collapsed, I have been miserable and hunted, one of my street villains slapped me last month and nobody was around to fight for me. Hunger is killing me but to God be the glory the feed the elderly foundation has suppressed my pain. I was happy when they said I was qualified for there never seen before charity. God must bless them for me o.

Adebamiro Olatunde (90years)

Adebamiro Olatunde‘My life has been in total shambles, I have never had joy for a whole day, and I was a farmer who was struggling to take care of the family after my husband died 40years ago. I tried all my possible best to stay strong but along the line I developed this sickness that totally weighed me down, I visited the hospital with the little money I had then but I was told to buy drugs which was ordinarily bigger than me financially. I stopped going to the hospital, it became worse as it affected my nose, and it melted my nose and destroyed my destiny. I am just as useless as anything. My life has been a total failure, my children are not up to the task, and I cannot walk well, severe body aches, partially blind. I cannot see anything clearly; it’s just faint and blurry. I was happy for the first time when the feed the elderly foundation decided to assist me with food and drugs. It actually came as a big surprise because I have never in my own life heard where a stranger will provide for your basic need every month free of charge. The lord God will bless them o.

Faderin Maria (75years)

Faderin MariaFaderin Maria . She has been barren all her life, ‘life has been difficult for me, my husband died a long time ago and I have been living a lonely life. I was a trader in Lagos selling plantain and other stuffs. I was old enough and had to relocate, I have no means of feeding, my uncles are dead, no children. I only sustain myself by begging around and my neighbours also give me when they have enough. I cannot walk well due to body aches and headache. I am just here. I heard about the feed the elderly foundation and decided to apply; they have been really trying for me. They buy food, drugs, and clothes for me. I am just short of words. God bless them.’

Odutola Regina (90 years)

Odutola ReginaI had twelve children and all died except for only one who I am still praying for not to die. I worked in Lagos as goods carrier for many years before relocating with my children to the village. I was welcomed into the village with sorrow, my first night in the village; one of my children just fell down and died. That was how they died one after the other until it remained one. My husband died in this problem too. Life has not been kind towards me; I am grown up now and cannot do anything again. Along the line I discovered that my eye sight was getting blurry and rough, I could not go to the hospital to treat it, due to that, I am blind now and cannot see anybody or anything again. My leg is another hell of a trouble; I cannot walk unless they carry me. There is nobody to take care of me; I solely depend on my neighbours and my last child who rarely come home.
The feed the elderly foundation has been nice to me, all I just do is to manage what I have. I was happy when they bought the food stuffs for me, never knew I could still eat without begging.

Onabela John Adebola (78years)

Onabela John AdebolaI retired from the ministry of works in Abeokuta in 1996. Ever since then, my case has been from fire to volcano. I could not afford my children to school and this Dis integrated the family. We were not always together to share the bond and keep the love alive, my sons were scattered all over the place, my wife was very far from me and I had to survive. I came back to the village to stay in my late uncle’s house. I commenced farming but did not get the desired result. I make baskets and sell them at the market.  I was happy when the feed the elderly foundation came to my house to deliver the good news. With the little I make, I can now eat and give thanks to Allah.
